This Magical “SkyWalk” Bridge Lets You Wander Through The Tree Tops In Tennessee

Nature enthusiast would be thrilled to visit The SkyWalk bridge, which offers the “most spectacular experience in the Smokies.”

Modern living has become too hectic for many of us, and time spent in nature, away from everyone and everything seems to be the best way to deal with all the stress we deal with daily.

If this is your cup of tea as well, we have a suggestion that will soothe your senses and restore your inner balance- The Smoky Mountain!

Nature enthusiasts love spending time out in the open, wandering around trees, smelling the fresh mountain air, and relaxing among the greenery that surrounds them.

So, read on!

The Gatlinburg SkyLift, SkyDeck, and the SkyBridge offer a unique opportunity to wander around and marvel at the spectacular scenery and expansive views there, even if you are not a professional hiker!

This mountain range is a part of the Appalachian Mountains and the Blue Ridge Physiographic Province.

Being one of the most diverse ecosystems in North America, with a millennia-long history, it is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and a part of an International Biosphere Reserve.

Since its establishment in 1934, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the US’ most visited national park.

In the early 1800s, Gatlinburg was settled for the first time, by Martha Jane Huskey Ogle and her seven children, who moved from South Carolina.

The settlement they established was called White Oaks Flats, and it later became the home of pioneer settlers and veterans of the Revolutionary War.

The first general store in the village was opened in 1850 by Noah Ogle. Four years later, Radford C Gatlin, a preacher, came to the village and opened the second one, as well as a post office.

The Name of the town was changed to Gatlinburg in 1856.

Nowadays, it is a site that offers various opportunities to visitors. Some visit it just to enjoy the impressive views, others sip their wine by the fireplace, and couples enjoy zip-lining through the trees.

If you ever go there, make sure you go to the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, which was opened to the public in 1954.

Starting from the middle of the town, you get a chance to travel up towards the top of Crockett Mountain, a vertical ascension of 500 feet, within a 20-minute trip.

It will leave you speechless!

During the stroll, you will witness the beauty of the mountain ridge, relax on a patio chair on the deck, get some delicious snacks and craft beer, and walk on the SkyBridge.

Completed in May 2019, the Bridge is simply enchanting!

Being the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America, spanning 680 feet and reaching a height of 140 feet at its midpoint, it offers the “most spectacular experience in the Smokies.”

Imagine walking across the glass panels placed periodically along it! Simply magical!

According to the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park’s website:

“A visit to the SkyLift Park gives you easy access to the best views of the Smokies and plenty of time to sit back and relax in our mountain-top setting. Plus, we’ve doubled the number of glass-floor panels in the middle of the SkyBridge and will open the Elevated Boardwalk portion of the SkyTrail later this Fall. Come visit us and experience the best of the Smokies!”

If you consider the Smoky Mountains as a possible getaway soon, we can assure you that you’ll have an unforgettable time there!

You can get an all-day pass to explore the extraordinary mountain sights all day long!

Moreover, you can stay in Gatlinburg for a few more days and experience the site firsthand at your own pace, and get as much mountain thrill, and relaxation in nature as you need!

Who’s up for it?
