Most people believe that cats and dogs naturally don’t like each other. Yet, that is not always the case. We speak particularly of an abandoned dog, in front of a residence in South Korea, and a little cat that gave the dog comfort, support, and company.
The dog has made its place in front of apartment number 103 in the residential area for about half a year. The neighbors explain with amazement that even though the winter was very cold, the furry animal remained there, in a corner at the entrance.
However, the most surprising thing about it all was his companion, a cat, that followed him all the time.
How did they survive?
When people came closer, the cat ran away, unlike the dog that acted as he was waiting for someone in particular.
“They don’t leave here looking at something in the same place, but the strange thing is that every time people pass by, the dog tries to check everyone’s face, unlike the cat that runs away,”
a resident explained.
The dog wasn’t always homeless. His owners were an elderly couple who lived in apartment number 103. Yet, when they had to go to the Senior Care Center, they left their dog as they were not allowed to have pets there.
Since the day they left, the loyal canine waited for them to come back.
Four months later, the cat became his permanent companion.
One resident made an improvised small house to protect both animals from the cold winter wind and marked it with the words “temporary home for a stray dog shivering with cold.”
Yet, it is unbelievable that the dog prefered to lie down in front of the entrance, day and night, accompanied by its true and loyal cat friend. It seemed as he would wait forever for his owners to return.
“They hug to keep warm when they sleep together at night. Maybe they think they are in the same situation since they met on the street. They know they are different, but they get along well, they comfort each other ”.
The residents have been considerate, and kept leaving them some food every time they passed, and thus helped the two friends to survive.
Yet, they became worried that the animals deserve help as winter progressed.
After relentless efforts, a rescue team went to the place where they live, and caught them to take care of them and find them a new home.
They were examined by a vet, and were both healthy.
Now, the residents know that their beloved animal neighbors will be taken care of in a warm home, they will have a good and happy life and they will be loved very much by their new family.
