The viral video of an 8-month baby girl with Down syndrome smiling during tummy time is just heart-melting!

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” -Leo Buscaglia

Of all the things we seek power in, the power of a smile is free.

Our smiles can change everything and everyone around us in an instant. A smile can convey so many things, it can bring positivity and joy at any given moment, as it is the universal language of kindness and happiness.

The video of an adorable baby girl with Down syndrome smiling at her adoptive mom melted the hearts of millions of people!

The adorable clip was shared by the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network with the caption “New smiles are the best smiles!”, and it garnered millions of views, comments, and reactions!

At the time, the baby, named “Baby H” until her adoptive parents are going through the procedure of adopting her, was only eight months.

She was enjoying some tummy time while lying on a blanket at their home in Texas when her mother asked her how her day was going. In the next moment, she offered a smile that can brighten up everyone’s day!

The mother explained:

“When Baby H was almost eight months old, she woke up one morning with this brand-new smile. We noticed it several times and realized she was showing us a cheesy grin -- we laughed and laughed every time she did it and she just loved the attention. She got to where she could do it on cue and I just happened to be talking to her, in our home, one morning and she started cheesing for me.”

In the video, Baby H’s mom says:

“Ohh I love your new smile! That is the cutest! Can you show me again?”

Baby H repeats it.

Her mother adds:

“You can tell by my laughter how much we adore this smile and she actually only smiled like this for a couple of weeks so this video is a treasure for us.

We hope that all the viewers will see the beauty that lies in people with Down Syndrome. Although a Down Syndrome diagnosis can be scary, the reality is that your child has a purpose and will be able to live a full and happy life.”
